How to choose the right limousine to hire

Back to Blog

We might be biased, but we do think that everyone should get the chance to ride in a limousine at least once in his or her life. When we think about hiring a limo, often a special event such as our wedding or prom night comes to mind. However, there are so many other occasions where you can choose to have a chauffeur driven car at your service. The question isn’t just when, but how to choose the right limousine to hire when the time comes.

The right car for the right event

First of all you need to think about what you want to use the limo for because there are a number of different vehicles that are not going to be appropriate for all types of events.

If you are looking for something that will really make a statement, perhaps because you are attending a red carpet type of event, then a people carrier is not going to fit the bill. Talk to your limousine hire company and find out about the different makes of vehicle for hire. Context is important too – if you are going to a special event with a vintage theme for example, then ask if the limo hire company has the appropriate car to match the right era.

Space

If you are looking to hire an airport transfer limousine, perhaps for a family holiday or for a party of business people going on a trip, then make sure that the limo you get is appropriate for your needs.

Consider the number of individuals you need to courier around – plus their baggage. Suitcases, holiday gear and extras such as scuba diving equipment take up more room than a few briefcases and the odd laptop. If your company is setting up a stand at a business road show for instance, then bear in mind that you’ll need enough room for your colleagues and all the equipment.

Cost

Obviously you will only be able to hire what you can afford, but the good news is most limousine hire companies will have a number of different pricing packages available, including some that can be tailor-made to your requirements. Make a list of what you ideally would like to have in terms of vehicle and services before you sit down to discuss your requirements with the limo hire company.

Often you will find that there are some extras that you can do without, while there might be others that you discover (to your pleasant surprise) that you can afford to splurge on. The important thing to remember is that a professional and reputable limousine hire company will also be an expert in helping you to choose the right limo, so simply pick up the phone and speak to them today.
