Have time to spare? Here are some things to do in Sydney Airport

Back to Blog

Whether you are jetting off to foreign shores, waiting for your airport limo transfer or in between flights, there are plenty of things to do in Sydney Airport. Here’s a quick look at some of them:

Food and drink

If you are in need of refreshments or just want a coffee to keep yourself awake while dealing with the effects of jet lag, Sydney Airport has a number of food and drink outlets. From just getting a snack to grabbing a takeaway or even enjoying a full meal, there is something to suit all tastes and appetites. Hot food, cakes and pastries, or an international twist to your meal – you are sure to be able to find a place to sit down and fill your tummies whilst awaiting the next leg of your journey.

For those who are Qantas customers, there is the Qantas Lounge where breakfast, lunch and evening meals are served, showers and wash areas are available, and there’s an excellent bar and wine counter to boot. If you are looking for the usual hearty family favourites then those are available too. Healthy eating options are also on offer along with a range of casual dining fare and the usual “grab and go” choices.

Relaxation areas

For those people who have spent several hours on an aeroplane or who have had a hectic business trip, why not try an aromatic and relaxing massage? Head down to the friendly and professional massage parlour and chill out whilst you unwind with a remedial massage or a neck and shoulder rub. If you have a good chunk of time in between flights, then you can treat yourself to an even longer massage.

Shopping

There is always time for a spot of retail therapy and Sydney Airport has a great range of shops to choose from. If you are looking for gifts to bring back for the family or fashion and accessories for yourself, then there are plenty of choices available. Books and magazines, gifts and lifestyle goods, all these and more can be found within easy walking distance and there is no need to worry about lack of correct currency as there are several currency exchanges available. Even better, you can shop duty free!

General facilities

There is free Wi-Fi in both the domestic and international terminals at Sydney Airport so you can get online and surf the web to your heart’s content. Or if you are on a business trip, you can use the time to catch up on work emails, prep for that important conference call or just finish off those reports.

For those who need it, Sydney Airport also has a Prayer Room in the international terminal if you want to spend some reflective time in a quiet space. If you have just arrived in Sydney and want to know more about what to do in this great city, then you can also head down to the Tourist Information Centre. There you will be able to book accommodation, ring for a limousine or just get help with your itinerary.
